Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Troy, AL in Troy, Alabama
Candidate will support development and implementation of written instruction for a variety of electro-mechanical assemblies in a powered test environment. Read and interpret engineering drawings to develop manufacturing data. Utilize software programs to develop written instruction, analyze data, support test equipment, and document process flows. Provide technical support to manufacturing testers to facilitate assembly performance. Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields. Understanding and application of testing principles. Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement. Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
Basic Qualifications Currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start
Desired skills Minimum 3.0 GPA
Applied knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts & techniques.
Familiarity with programming and electrical troubleshooting.
Knowledge or experience with ordnance assembly methods and fiber-optic cable assemblies.
Test equipment design and fabrication experience. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
Applied knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly and test methods, industrial processes, electrical troubleshooting, technical writing, and teaming.
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
