About the Job
STG, Inc. is seeking a Platform UNIX Administrator to add to its team in support of the United States Air Force. This position is located in Montgomery, Alabama. The Platform UNIX Administrator is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and usage of the local area servers and systems.
Maintain the virtual infrastructure hardware, operating systems, and VMs on servers supporting test, integration, and development environments.
Create and maintain system documentation for updates made to the infrastructure environments.
Perform upgrades to operating systems and software packages as necessary.
Manage system performance and maintain infrastructure security.
Ensure that established program security procedures are implemented and enforced.
Manage available virtual and storage resources across all environments.
Track and troubleshoot customer issues and provide resolutions on builds, products, services, hardware, and software issues.
Track all customer issues, providing ticket status and resolution reports
Manage tools and services to support the implementation and operation of a dynamic development, integration, and test environment.
High School Diploma
4+ years of experience in systems administration, ideally across multiple platforms (UNIX, Windows, VMWare)
1+ years providing hands on IT support solutions.
Experience with Red Hat 6, Solaris , Solarwinds
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing in order to document technical information.
Firm understanding of IT best practices.
Experienced using Remedy.
Active Secret clearance.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II (SSCP, CCNA-Security, GSEC, Security+)
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in systems administration, ideally across multiple platforms (UNIX, Windows, VMWare)
MCP, MCSA, RedHat, or other computing environment certification
