  • Physician Billing Representative I is responsible for billing, collection and customer service associated with both insurance and patient responsible accounts generated within the Baptist Health Physician Group. Physician Billing Representative I will utilize multiple professional billing systems and electronic payment systems on a daily basis. Physician Billing Representative I will execute standard department operating procedures and will be responsible for generating claims, insurance and patient account follow up to collection and updating patient account notes to reflect aggressive collection logic necessary for expediting payments. Physician Billing Representative I will answer phone calls from patients and resolve account questions in addition to working insurance accounts. Physician Billing Representative I will provide customer service to walk in customers on a daily basis in addition to their assigned duties. Education / Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Advanced education or training preferred. Minimum 2 years of related experience in physician practice / health care collections environment required. Previous background of working healthcare accounts to resolve payment complications preferred. Personal computer and professional billing computer systems experience required. CPAT/CPAR certification preferred. License / Certification: None Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of professional billing terminology. Experience with third party payers. Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written. Willing attitude to assume additional duties as department needs dictate. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations while maintaining confidentiality. Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated. Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency. Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients. Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations. The ability to communicate effectively with patients and all other personnel.
