Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Maintain instrumentation and electrical equipment across the site. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities. Troubleshoot failures and upsets on process instruments, control valves, motor control circuits, programmable logic controller and process control computer hardware and software, loss of weight feeders, AC/DC drives, and other electrical and control systems. Perform maintenance tasks involving low voltage and high voltage switchgear. Working knowledge of computers (PC's or mainframe systems) is required for accurate and timely documentation of all activities. Required to pursue and achieve NCCER or equivalent certification if applicable within 6 to 12 months. Required to develop recommended preventative maintenance procedures, work with equipment manufacturers, and learn/apply new technologies to the process. The nature of the position requires availability for overtime including call-ins on off-shifts/weekends to perform emergency repairs as necessary and complete any other tasks required to maintain plant operations. Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Journeymans Certification or equivalent in Industrial Electrical Instrumentation and 3 years Journeyman experience in the Instrument and Electrical Maintenance field
Or 5 years Journeyman experience with the expectation you will continuously work towards obtaining Journeymans Certification
Experience in repair and maintenance of chemical and manufacturing plant equipment, with low voltage and high voltage switchgear, and calibration of ISO and safety critical instrumentation devices
Must be able to comply with all safety policies/practices including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, safety goggles, steel shoe shoes, hearing protection, face shield, respirator, chemical suit, gloves, harnesses, fire rated suit, etc.
Active member of the Tactical Response Team (TRT) for a minimum of five years (training provided): live fire training, rope/repelling from buildings, emergency medical responders training, hazmat training, confined space rescue training, CPR training, medical/first aid training, etc.. TRT membership and training are conditions of employment.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematic wiring diagrams and P&ID's
Strong mathematical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a high involvement team environment
Ability to update instrument/electrical drawings and software
Ability to work overtime as required including call-ins, weekends, and holidays
Capable of performing sustained physical activities including but not limited to climbing ladders, stairs, standing, squatting, kneeling pushing/pulling, and ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
Work indoors and outdoors in hot/cool/humid conditions, etc.
Work in confined spaces with limited lighting while wearing respirator/SCBA and work at elevated heights
Respirator fit and medical approval required prior to placement
Ability to acquire the demonstrated level of proficiency in WorkKeys Assessment:
